I think I’m in love….with pink. Don’t tell anyone, I might lose my cool credibility! Just when I think I’m firmly set in the anti-pink camp a colour comes along and totally unseats me and I’m back in camp pink. I even bought a pink sweater the other day, what is this world coming to!?
Anyway. Enough of my existential pink dilemma. Onto the amazingness of this colour. This is the final of the Zoya Summer Matte Velvet trio I was lucky enough to receive for review purposes and I still can’t pick a favourite. I love all three colours so much, they’re so vibrant (as mattes and with topcoat) and perfect for summer or just a mood pick-me-up (always important when you live in a country that isn’t known for its sunshine!). This is a fantastic hot pink, I really want to pick up ManGlaze’s hot pink matte and see how similar/different they are. I love the trend for fun mattes (already seen in many brands like Zoya and ManGlaze) in bright colours and not just dark colours (although there is a time and place for those too).
I really have nothing but praise for this colour. It went on well and I got a lot of compliments on it! I think it works well with or without a topcoat (and I have pictures of both so you can decide for yourself), I am looking forward to what Zoya do next with mattes, I hope they are as fun and interesting as these three have been. Just remember to buff and then apply a matte! Unforgiving of nail ridges!
