Cult Beauty Pop Up Shop in Selfridges!

Cult Beauty are one of my favourite e-tailers in the beauty world. Their product variation cannot be beat and their panel of experts is to die for (I would love to sit in each of their brains for months at a time!). It’s a great site for getting beauty items that are hard to find (like Paw Paw balm of Australia!) and I especially like that there is something for every budget. I can get shampoo for £4.50 and I can also buy shampoo for £40 if I want. It feels like Sephora’s punk rock sister who does what she wants and is so cool everyone can’t help but fall in love.

I know I don’t talk a lot about beauty products on my blog…but it doesn’t mean I’m not a product junkie. I swear by my Clarisonic, I’m forever on the hunt for the perfect shampoo (although recently I’ve been using the Davines curly haired range…not too shabby), I recently became addicted to By Terry tinted moisturiser and touche eclat, I love lanolips and Tom Ford lipstick. There are a lot of products on the Cult Beauty website I’m completely obsessed with, here are just a few (some are out of stock!):

  • Escentric Molecules – Molecule 01 (£59) : Why do I want it? Well I will tell you! I have horrible migraines and for YEARS I’ve longed to be one of those people with a signature scent and this looks like it might be the key to unlocking it! It starts off with a woodsy-type scent (or so it says on the website) and then it sinks into your skin and blends with your natural phermones and creates a completely unique scent. It’s supposed to be something you can’t smell on yourself but that others can smell on you. So…something I can’t smell but other people can smell and (hopefully) smells really nice? WHERE CAN I SIGN UP!!?!??! It’s smelling it on myself constantly that triggers my migraines!!! I know it’s a lot of money (well…I guess not. Perfumes can get quite pricey and this is a biiiiig bottle) but I think it’ll be worth it. I will say I’m a bit worried that my natural phermones will make me smell like something bad…or unattractive…but it’s worth a shot at finally having that “signature scent” that everyone gets but me!!!
  • C Curls Shampoo & Conditioner (by Tara Smith) (£5.50 each) : Why do I want it? I REALLLLLLLY want to try this because (1) it’s for curly hair (like mine!) and (2) it’s CHEAP! My current shampoo & conditioner….much as I like them cost (combined) over £25 and this saves me over £10. I mean…it’s only a little but that little goes a long way over a year!!! Tara Smith is one of the expert consultants for Cult Beauty and they only have really famous and important, well respected people on their expert panel…so I must admit I’m inclined to trust anything they have on offer. And for the price point…there’s no real monetary loss!! (There is also a range by the same woman for straight hair)
  • Paw Paw Ointment (£10.50) : Why do I want it? Have you ever seen ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’? Well if you haven’t in the movie the father of Nia Vardalos’ character believes that Windex solves EVERYTHING. Paw Paw ointment is basically Windex for the real world. It’s supposed to be good for tight skin (sore, tight skin…sort of like after wearing a pair of flipflops and the skin between your toes hurts), blisters, spots/zits, dry skin, cuticles…anything and everything. And the jar looks like it could last FOREVER! It’s got a humungous following in Australia and I’m dying to try it!
  • Sour Cherry Gel Mask (£25) : Why do I want it? Well…I think I made it clear with my post on clay masks that I’m obsessed with face masks. I can never have enough! This mask has so many positive reviews that it is sold out on Cult Beauty and there’s a waiting list (which I am obviously on!). It’s supposed to be amazing for puffy skin (especially around the eyes!), smell delicious and brighten your complexion. The smell of delicious cherries can’t hurt either. I can’t wait for this to be back in stock, I always need new face masks (face masks and nail polish…I can never have enough! But thankfully I only have about 15 face masks unlike the thousands of bottles of nail polish in my possession)
  • Botanical Buffing Beads (£21.50) : Why do I want it? Actually I’m not sure on this one…it just sounded really cool and I wanted to include it because I’m thinking about it! This is an exfoliator gentle enough for people with eczema, rosacea and incredbly sensitive skin. I’m including it on my list beacuse I am one of those people with weirdly sensitive skin, I react to certain products (I’m allergic to Caress brand soaps!) and certain lip balms make me break out in a rash. So an exfoliator that is effective but gentle enough for my skin sounds amazing. I mean I swear by my clarisonic but nothing beats a good scrub now and again! This uses jojoba beads that partially dissolve as they hit warm water but enough remain intact to really cleanse your face. The jojoba plus the botanical extracts are supposed to exfoliate your skin and nourish the newly exposed skin. It sounds really cool and definitely something I might try out in the future!

So the reason I wrote all this is and told you about the products from Cult Beauty I’m most interested in is because Cult Beauty is coming to Selfridges from TODAY until Sunday!
